I'd have to say that I agree that Quanjude makes some pretty good Peking Duck... if you're in Beijing. The local branch here in Korla (Xinjiang), however, makes is far to greasy and I always feel a bit sick afterwards. They need some goddamn quality control.

many's the time I've sung the praises of 五粮液 Wuliangye. I just happen to have a full bottle here, but it might not last long into our forthcoming hotpot party.

Mmmmm Wuliangye..... Jinliufu, which may or may not be one of Wuliangye's products (you understand the memory lapse, I'm sure) is also on my list of Drinkable Baijius, along with Mengguwang, Menggu Koubei, Guizhou Chunjiu, an obscure one I have only ever seen in the corner store in the in-laws' village called Honggaoliang (I first bought it for the obvious reference, then found it quite palatable), and a certain Laocunzhang I drank once or twice down in Tianjin. The last two are brewed somewhere up Dongbei way. Having said that, I'm not above drinking Niulanshan or Hongxing Ergoutou when the occasion demands.

Guess I'll have to get off my arse and try Quanjude sometime.
