Why did a China-related search engine pick a phonetic name completely unrelated to anything Chinese. Jongo isn't even bad pinyin.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakah, Happy Birthday and Happy Arbor Day!

Why have I been getting comments promoting that website on both my English and Chinese blogs? It looks like it might be a useful site for expats who can't speak Chinese, but to be honest, I'm not really interested in helping people who can't speak Chinese.

John and Admiral -- Jesus, guys, patience! I'm only just crawling out from under my workload now, and I've got a bunch of other attendant translations coming up too.

Pardon for the generalization... "seems" to be very Chinese, would be what I was looking to say. I don't intend to be at sharp end of a sinologue's stick... at least not yet.

I like both: your short and long. Short is very Chinese, plus it has the added affect of actually being intensely personal, whereas long tends to me more directed towards some end, rather than just letting people know what's going on.

I'm not really sure in which direction "the blog" will go. You definitely get the traffic with the longer pieces, but the shorter pieces seem to have that wonderful, self-made feel, that didn't come with expectations. Makes me wonder in the future when blogging is over and done with, which blogs will stand out as being truly iconic.
